CURRENT GROUPS AT BEHAVIORAL WELLNESS CLINIC

1. FREE EATING DISORDER FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP

These weekly groups for family members and other support individuals for those suffering from an eating disorder will cover topics like: understanding the diagnosis, treatment, how to help, what is not helpful, communication skills, and much more. This is a supportive place to ask questions about navigating this challenging time.

2. NEW VISION:

This group is for adults that have struggled with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or a similar issue. The group meets bi-weekly and focuses on issues that can be barriers to treatment progress, such as feelings of isolation, loneliness, social withdrawal, stress, family and relationship discord, untrustworthiness, lack of motivation, difficulty making decisions, and being overwhelmed. This group enables members to recognize that they are not alone with experiencing these issues and begin to build rapport with others. In addition, members learn healthy coping strategies to feel more empowered in their lives and improve work and social relationships.

3. INNER RADIANCE:

The Inner Radiance Group is for individuals dealing with trichotillomania (hair pulling) and/or excoriation (skin picking). The group meets every other week to discuss compensatory and healthy coping strategies. The group is also designed to engender more social engagement and expression of thoughts and feelings.

4. ADULT RELAPSE PREVENTION GROUP:

This 90-minute group meets once a month and is for adults currently in treatment for OCD, anxiety, or depression. The focus is on learning techniques to inhibit relapse following or during treatment. This is a therapist-facilitated group for support, encouragement, and camaraderie.

5. BODY IMAGE GROUP:

In this confidential group setting, you will be able to work through these negative feelings and build a more positive sense of self about yourself and your body. We encourage you to join us for this clinician-led group and find support from others struggling with the same feelings.

6. ANXIETY SUPPORT GROUP FOR TEENS:

This online group meets twice a month and is designed to create a safe and supportive environment where teens can talk about their experiences and learn strategies to move themselves forward. The group is led by Brenda Arellano, MS, LPA (she/her), a therapist who specializes in pediatric anxiety and OCD treatment and has been extensively trained in telehealth.
