Treatment Services We Offer

Treatment Service Options Are Offered In The Following Areas:

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a trauma-related disorder caused by exposure to an event involving actual or threatened death, serious injury or sexual violence. These events may include—but are not limited to—acts of violence, combat situations, witnessing domestic violence, natural disasters, car accidents, or stress related to acts of racism.

OCD Treatment For Adults

OCD is a mental disorder that includes obsessions and/or compulsions. Most people experience both obsessions and compulsions. These obsessions and compulsions are very upsetting, and cause great distress and impairment.

Chronic Panic Attacks

Anxiety is defined as the mental activity of worry about future events plus the resulting emotional and physical changes. Anxiety is normal. Without anxiety, we would have no warning or alarm system, and we would, as a result, be unprotected

Eating Disorders

The best treatment for an eating disorder is based on a team approach. In addition to our psychological services, we provide nutrition counseling. You will work with our experienced dietitians who specialize in nutrition for eating disorders.

Anxiety Disorders

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety-related disorders are the most common mental disorder affecting children and adults. Forty million American adults suffer from anxiety-related disorders, but only about one-third receive treatment, even though these disorders are highly treatable.

Depressive Disorders

Depression is often misunderstood, even though it is the second leading cause of disability worldwide. It is important to understand that depression is unlike temporary mood changes that many people experience, because it has long term impacts on a person’s well-being and day to day functioning.

Medication Services

The Behavioral Wellness Clinic offers prescription services, including diagnostic assessments and medication evaluation and management for a variety of mental health conditions. Our psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dr. Sarah Schirmer, DNP, is very experienced and knowledgeable.

Therapies For Families & Relationships

Having a therapist trained in couple and family therapy is especially helpful for people who struggle with relating to others. Couple and family therapists can treat individuals — as well as any relationship within a family, a family as a whole, and couples (regardless of marital status).

Group Therapy

At Behavioral Wellness Clinic we offer numerous groups for different issues. Please read below to see if one of these group options would be good for you. Please CONTACT US if you would like to sign up or have any questions about any of the offerings.

Gender-Affirming Care

Research has shown that living authentically improves mental health outcomes for transgender and gender-nonconforming (TGNC) individuals. We see helping TGNC people live authentically as part of fulfilling the American Psychological Association’s mission to use psychological knowledge to improve people’s lives.
