Kristina Waters, L.C.S.W., Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, graduated from University of Louisville in 2018 with her Master of Science in Social Work and specialization in Couples and Family Therapy. Throughout her graduate studies, Kristina served vulnerable populations including juvenile sexual offenders, families involved with Child Protective Services, and those experiencing depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, borderline personality disorder, relationship problems, and parent-child relationship issues in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Kristina Waters, LCSW, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist has been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

She has been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for families and couples. When working with couples, Kristina utilizes both EFT and Gottman Couples therapy techniques. Kristina guides couples in recognizing and disrupting their negative cycle of interaction. Kristina equips couples with the skills to be able to make repairs in their relationship and to have a healthier, more positive cycle of interaction.

Kristina primarily serves the eating disorder population. She believes in family-based interventions to create a healthy environment that will foster long-term recovery for the identified patient. Kristina has been trained in the Body Embrace program that targets body image concerns of those suffering from eating disorders. Kristina is also a Body Project facilitator which is an eating disorder prevention program being utilized in local high schools.

Kristina sees clients of all ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and religious backgrounds. Kristina strongly believes that the client is the expert on their life and, as the therapist, she is there to offer evidence-based treatment that can be applied to their unique situations.
